Don’t Cats Groom Themselves?

All cats (even healthy shorthair cats) benefit from grooming! Consistent grooming helps your cat thrive, from dramatically reducing hairballs to making skin less itchy and preventing mats and tangles. Grooming also helps the cat’s family members by reducing shedding, improving the cat’s mood, assisting with hygiene issues, and more. As the only luxury cat spa in San Antonio, Cashmere Cat Spa not only grooms your cat in a calm and relaxing environment, but also advises you how to avoid problems in the future and counsels you about any other wellness issues your cat may be experiencing.

Long HAir

Long-haired cats have a lot of fur to manage! Even the most diligent washers can’t always prevent mats from forming, and everyone can benefit from a de-shedding treatment. Sanitary trims can also help with continued cleanliness.

Health needs

Cats with special considerations such as allergies and skin conditions can benefit immensely from baths and brushing. We’ve seen that bathing can reduce itchiness and help soothe hot spots.

Senior Cats

When cats age, they lose some of their flexibility and cannot reach all the areas they are accustomed to grooming. Their claws may also thicken uncomfortably and grow into the paw pads, which can be relieved with nail trims.

What makes us a luxury cat spa?

A TRue Spa Experience

Every detail of the spa day has been planned out with the intention of keep your cat as relaxed as possible, with the best possible outcomes for their health and wellbeing. Our innovative Calming Cubby provides sensory relief, and our longer appointment times allow for an unrushed experience.

Wellness focus

Unlike dog grooming or even feline show grooming, Cashmere Cat Spa’s grooming standards are designed with a health focus. We don’t do unnecessary haircuts or add-ons. Using industry best practices, exhaustive training programs for groomers, and a careful attention to detail, we make sure that your cat’s claws, ears, skin, and coat stay in peak condition.

Most importantly, we never sedate cats. We have found that with adequate relaxation time and good handling techniques, cats cooperate with the grooming process, and some even enjoy it—particularly the massage bath and the combing steps.

Concierge pick-up and drop-off

Your cat’s appointment begins with a complimentary pick-up at your house. We find that reducing the number of people coming in and out of the spa results in a calmer environment for our feline clients. Also, our staff is trained in best practices for transporting our feline clients with a minimum of stress: from spraying calming pheromones in the vehicle prior to pick-up to a no-radio, no-GPS-sound riding experience. After your cat’s spa day, we bring them back again using the same calming techniques. Consider it a luxury car service for your cat.
